Pros
Very nice colleagues, some of whom can see right through the mud and are also willing to help out, when needed.
Cons
Below-average wages, no cost-of-living wage increases. Never heard from the company's owner, even though it's a small, "family-owned" company. It's clearly all about the profits for the company, and employees are there to haul in the funds for the big bosses.
There are several other cons about working at Staphyt. Let's break down the values listed on their careers page and how they conflict with the reality of working at Staphyt.
Autonomy: Employees are micromanaged, as principals and managers do not quite trust those they supervise, despite the experience and/or level of education an employee has. Micromanagement extends, at times, to when an employee should send an email to a client, the wording of the email, or a message to colleagues on the chat platform (employees are adults and can do these tasks just fine, even if these small tasks aren't completed at the exact hour or minute a senior had in mind). Additionally, employees do not get choose; managers and principals dictate what an employee does, without having a conversation with the employee, beforehand. Furthermore, an employee is expected to bend over backwards to help register a Client's product, despite doubts employees have.
Support and Integration: Some managers and principals are too busy to train and support employees, with the perpetual excuse that they're too busy. This, of course, leads to inefficiencies, as employees will perform a job that is not up the standard of the manager or principal, causing the job to be re-worked by the employee. Additionally, no matter how borderline abusive a client can get, an employee is expected to ingratiate themselves with and be obsequious to the client.
Quality and Passion: See point above. The work produced is inefficient. Eventually, you'll get quality, but it takes far too long to get to that point.
Innovation: Because managers and principals micromanage, there is no way for employees to innovate or your use their skills to improve a project. Any innovation comes from outside sources, never Staphyt. Staphyt and innovation are polar opposites.
Team Spirit: There is always an emphasis on "team," but one would be hard pressed to find principals or managers actually building a team atmosphere. Employees need to build this on their own.
Training and Progression: Considering that principals and managers perpetually say they're busy, training and progression is slow and tedious. Employees must always go at it alone.
Wellbeing at Work: Even though several employees are overworked, the company doesn't provide extras that other consultancies do, like paid time off for an employee's birthday. Wellbeing is emphasised when an employee begins working at Staphyt, but that topic is soon pushed to the wayside.
A Multicultural Organisation: Yes, which is nice, but an employee is still held captive by Staphyt throughout their tenure with the company. However, if working in Staphyt's Europe branches, you might have to look through a microscope to find a person of colour working at Staphyt.
Multicultural? Yes. Diverse? Heck no.
