Pros

Glitzy looking NYC office with great views of the city

Cons

*Disorganized - I saw signs of disorganization as soon as I came into contact with this company. When I was applying for a position at this company, HR sent me the wrong job opening description and also lost some of my candidate information. *Disrespectful & arrogant - The backstabbing and talking behind one another backs (as another poster mentioned) started from Day 1 of my employment. Not only did employees (including management) talk harshly about each other, they disparaged the client. *Incompetent - There are so many errors in the work that STC produced: misspellings, incorrect use of English, mathematical errors, etc. Also, many of client deliverables were finished past deadline. *Unethical - After I pointed these errors out, one of the account directors ignored them and said he hoped that the client wouldn't notice. Furthermore, I was reprimanded for pointing out the errors in an attempt to improve STC's deliverables to the client. *Favoritism - Promotions are not based on merit but rather by one's personal relationship to the CEO (as another poster also mentioned). *Unprofessional & dysfunctional - Overall, the way STC handles workplace issues in the workplace is appalling. The constantly hire and fire people, blaming each exiting person for their troubles. *Expected to work unreasonable hours - On my first day, I was there for over 12 hours straight because the company was scrambling last minute to finish a client deliverable. *Below the industry standard in pay & lacking medical and retirement benefits I recommend potential applicants to look elsewhere for work. The stress of working for this company is just not worth it.

Pros

Clients and projects are across many different technology areas, so exposed to a lot of different knowledge and sources. Projects are diverse: creative copy to campaign, white paper, and web, so you learn how to bring it all together. Because they come from a brand POV, you have to think how to write like a brand "How would the brand say this or that..." It's different and interesting. They are fast, friendly and fun.

Cons

Wish it could have been a FT role for me to be part of the strategy side, but couldn't do it at this time. On the roster, so maybe one day.

Pros

It is true that this company is small. However, for a small company, this place produces some amazing work. The atmosphere of the office is really relaxed and free. There is pretty much no politics, so no one has to feel like they have to "do" things to please another. One of the greatest things about working at this company is that you are exposed to everything a marketing/branding agency does. You do everything from strategy to conceptualizing to dealing with clients, etc. Some people may see this as a con, def a pro in the long run. There is a lot of room for exploration. Most employees are open to new ideas, and is pretty supportive. Hours are good. - Not sure how it was back then, but it is pretty good now. As long as you get work done, leave on the dot. hour

Cons

Resources can be limiting. Creative should have more power over client request. Meetings need to be more effective and short. Need more feedback in employee progress
