Pros

There are some really nice faculty, staff, and students. The parts of campus that are well tended to are quite pretty. The school has a cool history. The new president appears to want to move things in the right direction.

Cons

Pay is low, very low. The cost of benefits is not acceptable. If you cover your partner, look to spend over $800/month. This is not workable for most families. Every office is over worked, under staffed, and under paid. There is a significantly large group of well entrenched upper level people that have a stranglehold on the school and are impeding it from improving. The faculty have far too much power and influence on campus. The school pays lip service to diversity, but all you have to do is see who are actually in the key roles on campus to know the reality of what you are walking into. The approach to managing the students has almost a preschool feel to it. The bandaid approach to addressing issues on campus and with the campus infrastructure is catching up with the school fast. Get a handle on your fraternity system and turn it around or shut it down...do you even read YikYak? You have a serious problem on the campus and you are not addressing it.

Pros

Flexible schedule, mentoring possibility. Increase research and writing skills.

Cons

Very little pay. Very little practical experience, unless you’re helping some kind of pro Bono work.

Pros

Everyone was nice except for facilities VP . See comments below

Cons

Lack of communication, policy's and procedures do really exist seem to do alot of fire fighting and less proactive stance on tasks. Leadership does not communicate very well if at all with subordinates. The VP is very vindictive particularly if an idea is not theirs. There many complaints about this person and many that are very talented have left their positions because of this person. This person needs to go back to management 101. Would not recommend working for faclities and operations at Stetson University.
