Pros

* competitive pay * flexible scheduling

Cons

The company has a well-established website and a kind message, patient focused. My initial impression of the company was completely wrong. I hadn’t worked there all that long, but realized why staff does not hang around, I started looking for a new job less than a month after I had started. There have been more than a dozen occasions when I have come in to perform my job and have been unable to due to a lack of supplies. Employees alert when inventory is low, but it is often not “approved” by finance to be ordered by the time it is needed. Techs are down to disposable lab coats because our previous company came one day and took all lab coats, mats, etc. due to bills not being paid. It’s like the Santa Rosa Beach laboratory is an afterthought, truly. The previous manager here at one point called us in for a meeting and drew a graph explaining “debt” to us… I had coworkers tell me not to trust HR, not to talk to certain people and to just write it down and keep it to myself. I was told not to bother with the 401k enrollment because the company hadn’t matched other employees. Additionally, the stress of the “12-hr turnaround time” is ridiculous when ONE person is running core and ONE person is running molecular, both with a spectrum of tests. There is no shift differential, no time and a half if you work over 12 hours in a day, no holidays off. Working at the Santa Rosa Beach location as well, for the accessioning position, they require you to be able to play courier as well, driving almost 50 miles round-trip to pick up packages. There is a lot of micromanaging coming from upper management and it is exhausting when accessioning and performing tech duties. On top of all duties, employees are required to keep their own work space clean as there is no janitorial staff that comes to this laboratory; vacuuming, moping and toilets is our responsibility. There are no countertops installed when patients arrive at our PSC and there are none in the kitchen, just a giant hole where a sink should be. Look up “Stone Clinical Laboratories” if you still have doubts, that is this companies previous name that comes with its own baggage. Unless you absolutely need a job or are incredible at handling stress, I would not recommend working here.
