Pros
Safe town, nice campus, friendly people, excellent food for a college campus (they regularly win #1 in SUNY for their food). Good to be helping students get an education.
Cons
College President way out of her depth. Chasing academic shiny and "making the cabins pretty" while she lets things fall apart below decks -- ignores and, through neglect, insults IT and other infrastructure staff. Latest blunder: taking away a $30 monthly phone stipend from on-call IT staff because "budget problems" (many of her own making). Bigger blunder: not listening to warnings from IT staff and consultants about perilous condition IT. Also, current CIO, one of the most competent they've ever had, is completely checked out because of the way he's been treated -- broken promises, no resources, no leadership or decision-making from President's level. He's waiting to be let go, but the President can't even seem to get around to doing that. Really sad, I once loved this place as my Alma Mater. Now it's just a job, and one I'll leave as soon as I can.
