The equipment budget was decent enough to get us good computers. Some of the coworkers there will commiserate with you.
Cons
I'm not sure where to begin. It was like a company stuck 30 years in the past. From the owners that would look down on their employees for laughing at a joke and not working, to the fact that the entire place was oddly lit and ventilated poorly. It felt like a warehouse, musty, and gross. It was just not good on the psyche at all. To be more specific: A) 0 Recognition for your achievements. Did well? Nothing. Did something wrong? You'll hear about it. B) The work was very tedious and you never really found meaning in document recording software. If you want a place to pay your bills and die inside a little every day, this is the place. C) 0 advancements and opportunities for growth in the engineering side of things. D) Salary is mediocre at best and you have to fight tooth and nail for a raise to even beat inflation. E) The organizational policies are arbitrarily strict and stifle any creativity you might have in you. From the needless dress code to the way they handle HR complaints. Horrible. F) Supervision is micro management to a T. Want to be given the tools to succeed and then left to your own devices? This is not the place for that. Be prepared to check in with the CTO twice a day with your status. G) Work relationships are discouraged.
