Pros
During my time at SaltWorks, I got to work with a lot of really talented & skilled people who were very willing to share their knowledge with me. In just a year's time at SaltWorks, I still can't believe how much I learned and how much I grew professionally. CEO Mark's passion for the business is shared by every department, and in turn, everyone works really hard to achieve truly amazing things. SaltWorks always goes above and beyond, which is truly an understatement. When it came time for reviews, my managers listened to my concerns, help me set goals, and made sure I was happy. I felt very supported in my role. I was not afraid to ask questions and to seek out help when needed. I had many opportunities to step outside of my set role and learn something new. SaltWorks has gone through a lot of quick growth in its history, and it continues to get better from what I understood while working there. If you work hard, are flexible, work passionately, love to collaborate, and can handle feedback, you will do well at this company.
Cons
Sometimes passion comes before practicality, so product develop happens in sort of a backwards fashion at times. This is something that was actively being worked on. Departments can feel a little separated at times, so it is up to the employee to get to know everyone and learn about the different teams. As a full-time hourly employee, I only had 7 or 8 days of PTO total (on top of paid holidays). Salaried employees have 12. However, I did have full health benefits, including an HSA, at zero cost to me.
