Pros
SCI and Sanmina merged in 2001, and became known simply as Sanmina at a later date. Between the two companies, I had 37 years tenure. Many fellow employees either left for greener pastures or suffered lay-off. Somehow, I managed to stay year after year, never laid off. So, with that in mind, I can say "try it; you might like it".
Cons
However, employees are just that: employees. They are not empowered, not hired to think, just hired to fulfill a specific need. As long as that need exists, you will probably stay, day after day after day. Do not expect too much from Sanmina, or you will be disappointed in the long run. Also, after 37 years, I received no recognition, no thanks, no "good luck with retirement", just a brief exist interview and out the door I went. Never got a single thanks or other recognition above the immediate group I was in. Like I said, you are "just an employee". P.S., do not expect raises or promotions.
