The Santa Lucia Conservancy is one of the best places I have ever worked. They have such an amazing management team. Not only will you be surrounded by very nice people, but you will learn and grow a lot here.
The Conservancy is a well-known organization in the community and volunteering for them would be a great opportunity to pick up experience to boost your career.
I have been visiting their website and do read their newsletters and I am seeing that there are some really great things going on at the preserve. It has grown so much with programs for interns and volunteers.
The preserve has around 200 homes and is private to the public. The role of the Conservancy is to manage the land to ensure that it stays virtually undeveloped.
You'll have the chance to work in all kinds of habitats and see many animals, which is a very nice perk. I highly recommend working with the Conservancy if you’re seeking an internship or would just like to volunteer, learn, and have some fun.
Cons
They work with a small budget so it is somewhat difficult to get a full-time paid job here.
