Pros

Some good folks in non leader roles - a band of good people who've found themselves in this company for one reason or another, who've figured out how to keep management at arms length and become indespensible.

Cons

Calgary is a Satellite office which does the lions share of the global business. The Danish HQ is extremely controlling and patronizing to customers and employees of the business. It is clear that the Canadian office is purely optics so that US customers will do business with them, while the Danish owners and family employees don't want to situate themselves in North America. Every meeting with the Danish HQ is akin to an episode of the Office. Some example scenarios... 1. Danish leaders will show up in the US and meet the North American teams clients without letting them know. The North Amrican sales people don't even know it happened until the customers call them to let them know. 2. Employees of the North American Office have been fired or made redundant for various reasons, and the employees have many times had to get legal action to ensure they are paid properly, including an example of an employee being made redundant while on Maternity leave. 3. The company doesn't control the supply chain for it's biggest selling product, and as such the sales and coordination teams have to have frequent and difficult conversations with customers about their products not being delivered on time. 4. The company has will make employees sign non competes and will hound their former employees and their new employers, making threats that they will take legal action - even though in ALL cases, not a single employee ever moved to a direct competitor (but simply to other non competing jobs in the same industry) 5. the leader of the north american office is a long time servant of the danish HQ and frequently doubles back on his commitments to his north american employees, siding with the danish owners on outrageous issues (for example we were forced to return to work at the office during a covid lock-down by a Danish leader who was not interested in the Canadian laws and recommendations..

Pros

Ability to travel and fair pay, occasionally surprises you with amazing company events.

Cons

Management encourages you to be creative. Once you begin obtaining success for your creativity they flip it around and smother you with micromanagement.
