Pros
Scarritt Group is a global company where I have had the opportunity to travel the world. While I have not had the opportunity to "be entertained" and see all of the sites when I am at a meeting..."hello"...for work where I am expected to be working...there are times when I have for an afternoon either before or after a meeting - gotten to see the sites that have been important to me. I have also added a day onto a meeting for a personal day when it has been important to me and my manager was accommodating in allowing me to stay an extra day at my own expense in a city where I wanted to see the sights. I HAD TO ASK. I am just literally dumbfounded as I read the posts from the unhappy person or maybe 2 people about the good posts from my colleagues. I have heard management and they need to focus more on training. It would be great to spend more time one on one with senior management. It does feel sometimes like they focus so much on the clients that I feel we sometimes are not the priority. We are the ones talking to and dealing with the clients so, yes we should be the "priority." I also hear "without the client, we don't have jobs." Working for a smaller company like Scarritt has its advantages vs working in large Corporate America. I have watched people "post" on this site and their complaints. I am a believer that there is always 2 sides and the truth lies somewhere in the middle. After seeing what seems to be the same person(s) "trashing" the company...I feel the need to protect my employment and feel the need to say something. Who poops where they eat?!!! I am NOT management and I am not FAKE! That is a red herring! I am just tired of seeing the complaining with NO suggestions. Stand up and make a difference. Do something to contribute. You that complain with no noticeable efforts toward change are a drain on society! I have worked here since 2012 and to see someone "trash" this company is so sad. Are there issues like balance?... yes. However, anyone who has worked in the hotel industry knows that during "season" you work long hours but then during "off - season" you work less than 40 hours a week. Hello..."average of 50 - 60 hours." Who thinks they can get ahead in life and work 50 hours a week? Maybe someone who has never had to work hard for what they have or did not have a job prior to graduating from high school would say things like I have seen on posted here. Just ask anyone successful in life if they worked less than 50 - 60 hours a week and if they didn't persevere during tough times. I believe in Scarritt because it is my team mates I believe in. If you don't fit in - stop ruining it for the rest of us. I feel that I have been lucky to be a part of this team. While there is backstabbing - just like high school...I choose NOT to participate. I tend to think about what will get me and my colleagues ahead which is what we need to deliver vs. who is talking about whom. I selected 5 stars for the overall rating of Scarritt to off-set those that have not been fair and have clearly never experienced a "real job" in corporate America where backstabbing is a daily occurrence, where anything you or the client wants must be approved by an Ivory Tower in some other major city and you are lucky if you get a response at all.
Cons
I am appalled that any of my colleagues would have the audacity to say the things that have been said here. Go find another job if you don't have the wherewithal to stand up for what you want to management. If you make too much money to leave - shame on management for paying you too much because you are not helping - you are now pulling the rest of us down!
