Pros
The pros of working at ScottCare: 1. The number one pro of ScottCare is the coworkers and family feel. There are a handful of rockstar employees that somehow keep this company chugging along. If you happen to be a person that knows how to get stuff done then we need more people like that. 2. Great place to grow beyond your initial job responsibilities and get experience in many different areas. Being a small company it's easy to get involved with all aspects of a release. 3. Every year I've been here the company has improved its culture and has been doing a much better job of operating professionally. However, there still remains much room for improvement.
Cons
The cons of working at ScottCare: 1. Incompetence - I don't think ScottCare has ever fired an employee for blatantly not knowing how to do their job and there are a few in key positions that need constant hand holding by many of us to keep the company moving forward. Many complaints have been made to management with no action taken. 2. Not enough people - For the amount of work on our plates we don't have the manpower to handle it. We've had many people over the years get burnt out and leave as is evident by the rest of the reviews on here. Also when people leave the positions can go months or years without being replaced and these are often important positions that play a key role in the company functioning properly. 3. As a company we seem to waste most of our money making mistakes. Whether its employing the incompetent that cost us money and productive time, hiring overpriced contractors that do shotty work, or having to scrap projects/products/materials. 4. Deadlines - The deadlines at ScottCare tend to be unrealistic, half thought out, and can change at any moment. One day it's "get it done by Friday" and the next day it becomes "we need this done tomorrow". Dealing with ScottCare deadlines can be extremely stressful when you're not sure when the it will change and the constant pressure only ensures more mistakes will be made in order to meet the new aggressive deadline. These aggressive deadlines ultimately only lead to additional work when mistakes need to be addressed later on.
