Contract work is the name of the game so no benefits. 1099 is standard for the industry unless you are on payroll expect to pay your own medical, dental, and retirement.

Day rates are exactly that, day rates. It’s great when jobs are wrapped up in a few hours, but if you want overtime for the longer days, you’ll have to negotiate an hourly wage (which means missing out when easy gigs come along.)
