Pros
As a pre-PA student, this was a good entrance into the medical field. It was a great opportunity to meet and connect with different medical providers. I had the opportunity to work with different specialties. Their trainers are great and they work to ensure that you're ready before you go solo. Additionally, they are accommodating of students and their schedules.
Cons
Pay is really really low given the level of skill and dedication needed for this job. There is no way you could survive in Portland with this job without taking on an extra position or receiving support from your parents/loved ones. While I knew this signing on, it became a worrisome problem when my hours started becoming inconsistent. Adding to that last part, it is frustrating basing your life on a provider's availability and schedule. You should take that into account if considering this job. The low pay, changing schedule, and taxing nature of the work ultimately led to me leaving. I can deal with one or two, but not all three together.
