Good folks to work for and with. Depending on the job, being outside all day everyday can be a blessing or a curse. Owners will keep you around no matter how useless you are. Possibility to travel for work is high. Government contracts pay very well.
Cons
Poor communication through the office, field crews are sometimes in the dark until just before leaving for a project. Contractor drought, there are certainly busy seasons and dry spells. In town pay can be meager
