Pros
Working at Second Home has been a really enjoyable experience for me thus far. With a great mix of new and legacy team members, the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between innovation and stability. The supportive nature of the senior leadership team has allowed me to flourish in my role, providing me with autonomy and empowering me to take full ownership of my role. One of the standout features of Second Home is the diverse and inclusive community. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I have felt genuinely supported and comfortable at work. Second Home fosters an environment where everyone's unique backgrounds and perspectives are celebrated, creating a sense of belonging and unity within the team. This inclusive culture contributes to a positive and collaborative atmosphere & ideas are freely shared and respected. Working alongside such a talented group of individuals with diverse experiences has been both intellectually stimulating and fulfilling. The range of expertise within the team allows for cross-pollination of ideas and encourages innovative thinking. I have had the opportunity to learn from my colleagues and expand my skill set, which has been immensely valuable for personal and professional growth.
Cons
While it's evident that Second Home has faced historical issues in the past, I can genuinely say that I have not encountered the same problems during my time here. The changes in leadership and the HR/people team seem to have made a noticeable and positive impact on the overall work environment. The dynamic and energetic team I am a part of is a testament to the efforts made to improve the organisation's operations and management.
