Pros

The job was challenging. I was forced out of my comfort zone completely. I grew more in the 5 months that I worked at Sector 7 Energy than the 9 years that I have spent working elsewhere. I learned more about business there than the 4.5 years I spent in college. I loved working with everyone there. Even the people who have just started a month before me were trying to help me with paperwork and understanding how to do the job. Super supportive team leaders, too. I have never had a manager pull me aside and ask me how I'm doing. I enjoyed working here.

Cons

The job was hard. It is really about your mindset. If you tend you compare yourself to others in a negative way, you won't make it. I did that. I looked at some of the other people who started at the same time I did and compared myself. A few picked up their first clients during the on field training and 2 of them actually had their first close the next week. I didn't pick up a client until my first week out of training. Then the next group came in and two people closed out a 4 digit commission deal. I have been here over a month and all of my deals combined was less than their one deal. I was used to being great at everything I did. It just got emotionally drained and had to leave.

Pros

Lots of room for real returns on your work. Lot's of bonus potential, like monthly competitions and good commission. Supportive and welcoming colleagues, and easy access to higher-ups. Great exposure to sales and the broader energy market, teaches you a lot.

Cons

Commission is a double-edged sword, with no medical benefits/retirement. NOT FOR EVERYONE, you definitely need to be able to brush stuff off and keep your head up. A lot of driving, of course thats dependent on your commute, but you can be placed in areas across the whole of DFW, and I assume it's the same for Houston. B2B, and D2D, can definitely wear on you and some business owners are more receptive than others.
