Pros
Ethical company. Supports the arts. Volunteer paid time off. Pension. Some bonus eligible positions. Huge community supporter. Excellent vacation and PTO, including carryover! Several medical plans. Employer-paid LTD and STD. Travel for work. Flexible work arrangements for many. Kind people. Large company but feels small. Promotes working at locations other than your desk while in the office — such as booths in common spaces, open workspaces with TVs for screen sharing, cafeteria patio, outdoor balconies, etc. Working on renovating the campus to give it a facelift.
Cons
Pay is definitely behind the rest of the market. Hires people that are fresh out of college for leadership positions but have no idea what the business unit or even what the company does — causes a lot of turnover, specifically in IT. Some health benefits are lacking (vision and dental). Some managers can micro manage. Feels the need to “pilot” everything! We’ve bee. Working from home for 2+ years, but they still feel the need to “pilot” some people’s hybrid work arrangements. Salaried positions generally have the understanding that you will check in on vacation days to keep things moving. Leadership on my team has created a culture where we are expected to be connected all the time — unless we are out of the country. This is leading to high turnover in our area.
