Pros

The experience of working for Sedulo has meant my therapist has gained a few more sessions with me.

Cons

I simply don't know where to start. I worked for the R&D Tax relief department and the experience was shocking. This company prioritises billing and nothing else. Not staff care. Not client care. Not ethical business practice. Not compliance. Only billing. The staff turnover is incredibly high. Likely due to the low pay, long hours, no overtime and no time off in lieu. The "benefits package" does not make up for the low pay and long hours. I've witnessed management use bullying tactics and emotional manipulation. Impossible targets are set and bonus agreements are deliberately vague so that the company can wiggle out of paying. The Director of the company has often been heard screaming at people from the meeting rooms and puts the senior management team in impossible positions where they're pressured into exploiting the workforce to make up for poor management of the company. The office culture feels very oppressive and no one feels able to speak up through fear. HR (People and Culture) are complete lap dogs to management and interactions with them are futile if you're looking for support. They've explicitly instructed staff that they're not allowed to talk about salaries (this is completely illegal) and they will take advantage of staff not knowing their rights at any opportunity. I can't stress enough how much I wouldn't recommend going to work for this company.

Pros

Free bar in each office

Cons

Bad pay with worse governance, expected to get work completed in unrealistic deadlines without being supported and expected to work in own time to get the work done. There are historical accounting errors based on under qualified people being hired which means much longer is required on the job. When senior managers come to the office, there’s a bravado that’s put on specifically for them (why hide what the firm’s like?). There’s been such little change over the years despite years of people writing negative reviews and offering healthy suggestions to the business. Staff are heard but ignored. A weekly happiness score is sent to staff but if you score low, you’re seen to be the problem. When you discuss what can be done to improve (ie hire staff to support/ getting paid for hours worked) nothing is done to change the problem. High focus on non-accounting related work that staff are expected to attend.
