Pros
I worked at Seyfarth for about four years as a paralegal in the Business Immigration practice. It was a wonderful experience where I learned a great deal and was able to begin my career in the professional world. People The people are one of the best aspects of the job. It is a tight knit group of people who are not only smart and hard working, but fun to be around. They support one another and have great team dynamic. Even after leaving to go to grad school, some of my closest friends are those I worked with at Seyfarth! In particular, my boss at Seyfarth was the most amazing teacher and mentor who taught me so much. She supported my growth and development and pushed me to expand my comfort zone and take on greater responsibilities. Related to the great people, I found Seyfarth to have a very supportive environment both inside and outside of the immigration group. Opportunity There are great opportunities for growth and development at the firm. Not only training in technologies, processes, and content area, but the ability to continually expand your knowledge and experience basis with different types of Immigration work. They help you to build a solid foundation in the “bread and butter” of Immigration, but also allow you to explore a variety of types of work. The variety of clients and support teams allow for continual learning opportunities.
Cons
The work can be demanding around the busy season. Thankfully, everyone is in it together, and knowing you have a team working right alongside with you makes it not so bad!
