Pros
I love many of my coworkers and that is probably why I’ve stayed so long. This is a good place for an entry level job. The job Is very rewarding and I really enjoy working with the adolescents. I really found myself here and I do appreciate that. You can also transfer within 6 months. But the pay changes can even decrease depending on the position. That is ridiculous!
Cons
1. The pay SUCKS. They just raised it to $15/hr because they had practically no staff. Before they gave us that they gave us a minuscule 2% raise for cost of living which meant nothing because they raised EVERYBODY to $15hr. The raises and cost of living increase was a scam and they ought to be ashamed of themselves. How is it fair that I’ve been at Sheppard Pratt for going on 3 years and give someone who just came the SAME amount as me! It’s a slap in the face! 2. Managment sucks. At least for my unit many of my coworkers have stated our frustrations and they have not been heard. He lacks social skill and appears to be racist because he can’t even look any of us in the face. Most of my coworkers are in fact Black. 3. You have to work so much overtime to get a decent check. 4. Sheppard Pratt does not appreciate it’s employees. 5. Some managers show favoritism.
