Pros
Helping children in need. Meeting new people. Benefits are decent.
Cons
Priority is placed on parents and not the well being of children or workers. Staff likes to gossip too much. Favoritism is extremely apparent, it's all in who you know and not based on actual effort or work for recognition. Administration is very unprofessional in how they speak to staff. Employee reviews are not done appropriately. Staff do not receive raises often. An employee who's been there 12 years should not be making the same amount as a new hire. On the pay scale it shows tiers and raises but they don't implement them. You also acquire vacation days and sick leave but good luck using them. You are made to feel terrible if you call in sick and vacation days are rarely approved. Aides are used in positions they have no business being a part of. Aides are used to teach when they aren't certified to teach. It's a thankless job.
