Pros

My time i have spent with the company has been great, both my manager and assistant manager are awesome, close knit feeling at the store. I am getting paid quiet well for a part time position in the town, my managers are great about feed back both positive and negative but they don't come down hard on a person the just make sure you know what happened and how you should do it next time or fix it. plenty of room for advancement, and the stores are generally a lot of fun to work in.

Cons

I can't understand some policies that senior management has in place, we are a high quality paint store do we really need to be open on the day after thanksgiving and Christmas REALLY!!!!? who is going to come buy paint in the middle of winter in northern Minnesota the day after Christmas or thanksgiving.

Pros

Wonderful employees at each store, particularily helpful at navigating the vast expanse of products. Overall, great work environment with special people.

Cons

Customer base could be annoying at times, refusing advice or assistance and then complaining about prices. Contractors can be difficult to deal with especially on weekends, acting like they deserve the best prices and won't listen to manager suggestions.

Pros

A positive work environment. The best co-workers I have had so far in my career worked with me at Sherwin. I also worked under an amazing management team. There is a lot of room for career growth. I worked for Sherwin for about 3.5 years. I started as a contracted lab technician, then I was hired full time as an R&D Associate Chemist. I quickly worked my way up to R&D Chemist within a year of being hired full time. The department I worked in was very fast paced, however, I know there are many other groups that move at a much slower pace with longer timelines. This would make it much easier to manage the workload.

Cons

Working with marketing was challenging at times. We would regularly receive big requests a day before they needed something. This would pose a challenge when you had other priorities to attend to. The pay was average. I do think it could have been slightly higher for all of the job responsibilities given to the chemists in my group specifically. The workload was overwhelming at times.
