Pros

Great benefits for retail management, health, dental vision, 401k, pension, tuition assistance. Other good things depend on your training store. My manager is flexible with off time, and scheduling so long as I get in 40-44 hours a week. The job is rather easy, if you don't know something, someone who works there probably does, so you pick things up by watching and listening. It helps to be flexible in with a very diverse customer base.

Cons

Some contractors are a little impatient but they are out the door quick. There is some heavy lifting and you are on your feet. I was a bit snooty knowing I was doing this when other college grads I knew were in cozy cubicles surfing ESPN, but I'm getting paid the same if not more. Some stores probably don't have good managers and you'll be working where they want you once it's time for you to be an assistant manager, but that's expected. It's retail... but it's better than most other retail gigs... hours, sundays closes most places. etc

Pros

Leadership training, flexible schedule if your store has the necessary staffing, 401k match

Cons

If you don't have staffing then you are required to work weekends consistently, Sales calls requirements keep getting higher and higher, incompetent corporate leadership. Pay is based on 44 hours worked weekly for assistants(48 for Store managers; leaves room for less work/life balance
