Pros

You get paid a bare minimum salary of $45k/yr even though this is an hourly job. No bonus for MTs, and no commission can be earned ever. Decent benefits, but doesn't make up for work stress and entitled customers.

Cons

It is a labor-intensive retail store job that doesn't allow for actual lunch breaks. And if you do decide to take a lunch break, better be ready to make-up the time you clocked out by staying longer or coming in earlier to your next shift. If you don't make up the time your paycheck will be affected. You are expected to be on your feet all day, meaning your lunch break will be interrupted to help customers. Working 44 hours a week is a must in order to earn your "salary" (this job is hourly, but the employers will try to phrase it like it's salaried). You have to clock in to this job, it's not a true salaried position. Also as an MT you can be taken advantage of especially when it comes to working weekends (they will try to make you take weekend shifts without an adequate warning). Work-life balance is bad because you don't have a consistent schedule, it changes every week and you will find yourself closing one day and opening the next and also working random weekends. The job mostly entails mixing paint all day for customers, lifting heavy gallons of paint, and shelf stocking. This job is not meant for college graduates seeking to start at an entry-level corporate position. If you have the luxury, wait to find a better opportunity because it takes several years to even advance to corporate at Sherwin-Williams as an MT.

Pros

Leadership training, flexible schedule if your store has the necessary staffing, 401k match

Cons

If you don't have staffing then you are required to work weekends consistently, Sales calls requirements keep getting higher and higher, incompetent corporate leadership. Pay is based on 44 hours worked weekly for assistants(48 for Store managers; leaves room for less work/life balance
