Constant burnout and being told if you aren’t burnt out you aren’t doing something right put a big strain on my personal life. It felt impossible to keep work and personal life separate with praise being given to employees who worked during weekends, late nights and whilst on PTO.
I felt anxious when going into meetings with the fear of being yelled at or talked down to like a child, which happened more often than not.
After being made redundant, the communications that followed were patronising and felt very tone deaf whilst many employees were struggling.
Shieldpay pride themselves on their unlimited PTO however I felt like I couldn’t take that many days off due to pressures from higher ups on deadlines.
