It's exactly what you make of it. Solid company. - Specialist Shiftgig Employee Review

Pros

Most gigs are at reputable clubs and restaurants. Company is willing to work around your schedule. You only work when you sign up for a gig. What you see is what you get. Hourly wages can be higher than average, some chances to get tips. Most tasks are fairly easy. Waitlist DOES actually result in work! Stringent late / no show policy (3-strike plan) keeps lazy workers at bay. You don't see people hiding in the back on their phones on a shiftgig.

Cons

Companies sometimes have odd uniform item requests (polo shirts, bow ties, vests, tux pants, tux jackets "dark sneakers with no logo" and if you were to pick up one of those shifts, you must pay for those items. So just know that before you accept a gig. In NYC, demand is VERY high. If you get a ping on your phone, you have literally about 10 SECONDS to respond. Expect only 2-3 shifts week at the maximum, unless your schedule is 100 percent clear and you can sit by your phone.
