Pros
RIC has many great people to work with and it gets you exposed to patient care with so many different types of patients with different disabilities. Staff camaraderie is great and many smart people work there and are willing to bounce ideas off each other to excel programs for patient care.
Cons
RIC as an organization is a great self-promoter that they are the best in Rehab patient care in the U.S., which is deceiving. The pay staff nurses, PCTs, PTs, OTs, PTAs very little compared to their market value, usually in the 25th to 35th percentile in Chicago. Annual raises are often less than inflation (around 1.25%) and it's impossible to get the top raise unless you get employee of the year. Annual bonus consists of a fleece blanket (no joke)! Tuition reimbursement is no longer and the premium withholding for Health/Dental keeps on getting more and more each year.
