Pros

Product - I had the opportunity to work with SingleStore (previously known as MemSQL) both as a Customer (Sys Admin) and an Employee. The SingleStore DB is modern, constantly improving, easy to work with and manage. Truly the Database of Now. People - Most of the people I've had the pleasure to work with so far were delightful and pleasant (best of what society has to offer). Benefits - Pay is competitive, unlimited vacation, bonus pay if you work holidays.

Cons

Work/Life balance - Some of the more senior team members seem to be overworked or are working late hours to handle customer related outages/issues. Management is hiring more people to cover different shifts in order to address this issue. New Hire Training - The training materials for new hires seem to be some what outdated and not kept up. You are expected to do a lot of self-learning and ask questions. This isn't completely unreasonable since the role itself involves a lot of researching and self learning.

The company offers strong learning opportunities, especially for those interested in technology and

Cons

Focus on creating a culture where employees feel respected, supported, and valued. Take employee feedback seriously and hold managers and team leads accountable for how they interact with their teams. When employees raise concerns or ask for support, ensure those issues are addressed with meaningful action rather than being overlooked. Better communication, transparency, and leadership accountability would help build trust, improve morale, and strengthen employee retention.
