Pros

Other IT team members (e.g., IT Services, Enterprise Architecture, Software Engineering, Network, PMO, etc.) and colleagues from other departments (e.g., HR) are generally friendly and helpful.

Cons

- 2 team members are former colleagues and friends, so do not expect fair treatment. Your task nature is different, yet the boss always thinks that his friend is busy and multi-tasking, while he thinks that you have nothing to do, so he keeps asking you to do more. - If you have any comment about the team member's working attitude, sorry, your boss simply does not care. I once requested to talk to him about that, and he said, "He is busy, please help him". 🙃 - The team member speaks very loudly and continues to behave like that even though you ask him to lower his volume politely and repeatedly. He once called his son ON SPEAKER at his seat. When I thought that he might not be aware of it and reminded him, he said "I know" and continued. And good luck to you if you want to concentrate on calls, because not even wearing a headphone would help you block his voice. If you have a call with him, you will hear two voices, one from headphone and the other one from him. - When he called me and I could not take the call as I was busy, I suggested that we schedule a call instead. He then said, I quote, "ok, but things not every to your own schedule, i am also full of things. I just did initiatve to help you only". I thought it is common sense that scheduling a call means you have to ensure the date/time works for both parties? - Aaaaaand NOPE, he was not "helping" me. Fact is, his friend thinks that he is too busy, so he hands over PAM stuff to me. So it's more like I'm helping him, rather than he's helping me. I once helped him email a vendor for support as he was out of office for a seminar and the IT department head raised the urgent request. When he was back, he told me to follow up, and when I told him that it's not my task, he said "okay then I will help you do it". Ha-ha. - No work from home policy, not even if most people in the office are sick. I was infected by the lady who kept coughing but did not wear a mask 3 times within 2 months. Last but not least, if you still decide to join the team, please please please make sure that you have black-and-white evidence for everything, especially if you have any conversation with the team member. He is incoherent, constantly forgets what he said and even attempts to shift the blame to me. E.g., I called him in the morning for suggestions, and he proposed Solution A; later he mentioned in Teams that I should follow Solution B instead, which I found to be infeasible later on as that would have impact on the existing platform. I tried to clarify with him, he then said he proposed Solution A after sharing Solution B! Luckily there is call history in Teams and I was able to prove that he sent the message after the call. Seriously, GOOD LUCK if you will be joining the team!
