Pros

- There are some good people working at Skipton

Cons

- Not what it used to be 5+ years ago. Used to be full of optimism and committed colleague who wanted to work hard for a company who used to supports and develop their employees. Unfortunately there is not much support or development opportunities anymore. - Forcing us to soon come into the office for 3 days a week unless you’re sick of course, then you can work from home rather than take a sick day. Was fine to work from home during Covid as long as it suited the company but now apparently ‘the survey says’ we want to come back into the office (no one you speak to wants this). - They will proudly show that they are rated in the ‘Top 500 company’s’ to work for.. How many people were actually surveyed? Are they so keen to shout about their glassdoor rating? - Ridiculous amounts of time, effort and money spent on new systems and change initiatives which seem to have made customers and colleagues journeys even more difficult, ignoring the fundamental foundations which were already broken and remain broken. - Senior leaders always push the narrative, if something isn’t working, feedback to your direct leader which seems to go absolutely nowhere.

We are sorry that you feel this way. We are going through a period of change, and whilst we truly believe that these changes are right for the future of Skipton, we don’t underestimate the impact that change can have. On blended working specifically, yes we have asked teams to be in the office three days a week because we want more day-to-day collaboration, more growth and development opportunities, and faster decision-making in person. And we’re upgrading our on-site facilities to make the experience for colleagues in the office even better. We also listened to colleagues through the consultation period to adapt our approach to this. We’re proud that over half of our workforce said they would actively recommend Skipton as a place to work in our latest Peakon survey.
