Working at Slickdeals has been an absolute disappointment, especially since the new CEO and C-level team took over about a year and a half ago. The company has been in a constant downward spiral ever since, with month after month of losses. What’s truly frustrating is that the leadership refuses to acknowledge the real problem: a drastic lack of users. The company continues to blame things that are out of anyone's control, especially the employees who are just trying to do their jobs. The reality is, that until they address the core issue, it feels like we're all just treading water. Bonuses have been shrinking every quarter, and it’s only a matter of time before they’re completely nonexistent. This is especially disheartening because the bonuses are tied to company performance, which, let's face it, is entirely out of the hands of individual employees who are doing their best to keep things afloat. If this trend continues, don’t be surprised if half the sales team walks out. No one wants to stick around for a sinking ship with no rewards for hard work. Another major issue is the influx of people from big-name companies like Google who haven’t contributed anything meaningful to the company’s success. These hires seem to be mostly VP’s and SVP’s, all filling up the organization with no real results to show for it. The company is bloated with wasteful spending on executive-level salaries and perks that could be better invested elsewhere. The higher-ups are living in a bubble, disconnected from the reality of what’s happening at the ground level. To top it off, they recently brought back the old CEO for the 25th anniversary to talk about how successful the company used to be. If they want to salvage what’s left of Slickdeals, they should consider bringing him back permanently to steer this sinking ship away from disaster. Overall, Slickdeals used to be a great place to work, but the new leadership has completely wrecked the culture and the business. The constant mismanagement, lack of accountability, and diminishing rewards make it clear that things aren’t going to get better anytime soon. If you're considering joining, think twice.
