Pros

Pays a decent salary for the job

Cons

You have to fight in order to put in any contributions of your own. There is no trust that you can do your job properly. You have to proof this first, which is fair enough, but the owner has the approach that, if you do things any different from how he would have done them, if must be wrong. As such, your creativity is reduced to asking yourself: "what would Mr. Walker do?"

Dear former employee, Thanks for your feedback. We would like to comment on a few of the points you have mentioned: From our daily work we can consciously say that none of our managers has to fight for decisions (actually, most decisions are made without interactions with the C-Level at all). Of course, the prerequisite is that decisions have been well prepared and thought through. As you surely know, we take our corporate principles, in this case Good Judgement and Extreme Ownership, very seriously. It is of utmost importance to us that our employees have a deep understanding of matters at hand in order to be able to make informed decisions independently. Regarding your statement "Asking what would Mr. Walker do": We have discussed this in the management circle because it is important for us to critically question this as well and check if we are overlooking something here. We can say as a whole team that this is not the case. None of us is asking ourselves what Sebastian would do. Because that is also not in line with our corporate principles to make the right decisions. We are asking ourselves what positive or economic impact this should have on the company? As you know we are not dependent on investors and therefore economically very efficient. This statement looks to us like our company principles were not understood (... even after there were leadership workshops where you took part when we jointly worked on those). About the statement of the termination agreement we have to say that there was more than one four-eye conversation in which the expectations of a management role were discussed together. Since the expected results on our part did not appear within the first 6 months, we were interested in finding a solution that, although there was an inadequate performance during the probation period in this role, was still feasible, because you advertised that you understood what the points were and that they would change now. Lastly, from our side, an employment relationship should happen on an eye-to-eye level. Unfortunately, in retrospect, we did not have that feeling here. We are very disappointed that we have not been able to discuss this in an open conversation. Best regards, Doreen
