Former employees should be aware of the culture and management practices at Sloane Stecker before accepting a position here. While there were certain staff members who made the experience more bearable, my overall experience was extremely disappointing and, at times, emotionally exhausting. There was a concerning lack of transparency regarding PTO, scheduling, and internal policies. Employees who raised concerns about PTO discrepancies or workplace issues often appeared to face sudden schedule changes or other unfavorable treatment. Communication from leadership frequently felt reactive rather than supportive, and the environment became increasingly stressful and toxic over time. It is also important to note that upper management resides in Florida and, from my experience, appeared to operate with very little accountability regarding workplace expectations and availability during business hours. Additionally, certain handbook policies raised serious concerns regarding payroll practices, overtime, and reimbursement procedures. Employees were expected to remain constantly available, while support, clarity, and consistency from management were lacking. I also witnessed an extremely high level of turnover during my time with the company, with approximately 30–40 staff members — including both therapists and administrative employees — leaving throughout my employment. I would strongly encourage anyone considering employment here to take these reviews seriously, ask detailed questions during the hiring process, and carefully evaluate whether this work environment is the right fit for them.

Wow where to begin? This is probably one of the most disorganized, poorly managed, and corrupt physical therapy offices out there. There is little communication between upper management and employees, with no on-site management. All upper management are primarily located at their Florida locations, and are completely out of touch with what the NY offices need. The owner is an erratic and narcissistic-- he has no problem speaking poorly to his employees in front of patients and to coworkers, as well as scapegoating and berating his employees in front of patients . Patients have actually commented how unprofessional and inappropriate he is. Additionally, the owner is in a personal relationship with HR-- a great conflict of interest. You'll be expected to see as many patients as possible-- a direct quote from the CEO "it doesn't matter if you have other patients at a specific time, they should be allowed to come in whenever they want." AKA you will see at least 18-20 patients a day, including triple booking Medicare, which is ILLEGAL. A company who loves to threaten legality and HIPPA violations, seems to have no problem billing illegally. Probably because they are more concerned about making $$$ instead of employee retention. The turnover rate at this company is absurd-- between 3 offices, at least 20 PT's have came and went over the course of 1 year. While the state of the art/ high tech equipment is pretty cool, it's impossible to use the equipment to the full potential. The equipment is inappropriate for at least 75% of the patient population, and dangerous. Additionally, with the amount of patients you are expected to see, it's impossible to use and analyze the data appropriately. And you have to use the equipment regarding the patient's well-being/ clinical presentation. God forbid you want to use some clinical decision making and want to perform an exercise or manual technique that's not machine based (that has great clinical evidence to be beneficial)-- you will be reprimanded and forced to use their "cutting edge" TECAR technology (a glorified diathermy machine) that has little clinical evidence. You guessed it-- it's not covered by insurance and an additional charge! All in all, I would not recommend stepping within 100 feet of this place. Wouldn't be surprised if this place gets shut down for fraud.
