Pros
All my coworkers were kind and extremely helpful. Flexible hours. You can go into work between 8 to 11 just as long as you put in your 8 hours of work for the day. If you need some time to go to appointments or take care of personal business, then you can just go and do it whenever. No dress code. You can come into work with casual clothing. They do catering every Wednesday from a local restaurant. They have a keg of beer in their conference room and we would have beer every Friday evening.
Cons
When I worked there, they used Virtual Box to create their LAMP dev environments. This method is extremely outdated especially since Docker has been around for a while now and is far superior to making dev/stage/production environments. When I was there, they used SVN instead of the far more superior Git VCS. They don't use SCRUM or Agile methodologies. So everything is disorganized which leads to abandoned projects, projects that have been waiting in their queue for almost a year and haven't even been started, or they push out bad quality products. Making money as fast as they can is their concern; not giving their clients robust and secure products. They do give you the freedom to come up with your own designs if you haven't been provided mock-ups, but you get criticized, sometimes harshly, a lot if it wasn't what the lead was envisioning. I took on this job to gain some experience and learn about web development, but that didn't stop the leads from talking down to me and being extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. I was lacking in knowledge and experience, and I've always worked hard to compensate for that, but that was never enough. All of my work that I did for SSS went unnoticed, and I felt underappreciated. They didn't even tell me that they pushed a project that I made for them into production. They don't have a feedback system. They don't give quarterly, bi-annual, or annual evaluations. So you don't know where you sit in the company unless you ask them.
