Pros

Pay is okay. Nice to get to get the increases each year, but that's about it.

Cons

Hiring people that are unprofessional and ghetto that pretend to do their job, and management knows this. Do not be the one with good work ethic, management will take advantage of you instead of whipping the ones that don't work into shape. Management is allowed to harass and bully employees and directors of the department know this, but sweep it under the rug. If you are a GS-7 or below, there are no opportunities for you to advance unless you know someone or you kiss management's behind real good (get the chapstick ready and keep those lips nice and moist). Nepotism is a huge problem in this agency. I have seen the laziest people get promoted because they have a relative that works under the directors or the regional commissioners, only to get dropped back down to the lowly position they previously had because they are lazy and dumb (well, it's true); while those that deserve the position/promotion are overlooked and never considered.
