Pros

The salary is of a journeyman CR after three years is at least 50k, and will grow via annual step grade increases, almost 99% of the time without regard to performance. If one wants an 8-4:30 job, with few professional challenges, and good "benefits." Dive in. You can use sick leave and vacation days at your discretion (except for major holidays). The vision and dental programs offered can be quite good. Advancement opportunities exist. Many in upper management are women. Many African-Americans, Asian-Americans, and Latinos/as are in management positions. Advancement for those who desire it, is available (provided one starts at the CR level, more difficult from lower levels i.e. Service Rep). Job security. Very few layoffs. That is my humble advice, and I wish you the best in all of your endeavors.

Cons

After a few years, you may become bored and frustrated b/c no matter the effort or ability, everyone is compensated the same. You may also find that if you stay for a long time, you have acquired no other professional skills attractive to future employers. Just work with the understanding of what that it is just a job. That's it. If you want more challenges, do not complain, just move on.
