Mislead during interview. Told I could 2 or 3 x OTE. Of the 9 people on my team, 2 people where hitting target. Everyone else attributed it to luck and timing. Not hard work, Improving, getting innovative with the sales approach. Base Salary was a joke, couldn't get by with so little guaranteed income, the OTE was not going to be hit, no matter how hard I worked.
Three reasons I left.
Manager didn't have things done I needed to get done for me to get the job done. Two weeks later, still waiting on them.
You're not selling one thing. There is no rhythm, no mastery. You are a reseller of multiple things, with vendors each having their own "day" or week during the year. So there is no equilibrium being met with routine in your sales job. Every now and then someone gets you to push the next thing, it was hard to get into a groove.
At the end of the day, I'm sour I was mislead, thought I would be joining a high performing team, and thought I'd have an angle when calling into accounts. People ask what do you sell, or how can you help, and aside from pitching a next call, you practically can help with "everything tech related", which just translates to you can't help with anything on a cold call. You won't 2x3 OTE. There are good people, but everyone kinda accepts you won't hit target. And you never learn everything, things are constantly changing, without every learning how you can help a client. You end up connecting them with someone who does.
Poor experience.
