SolarWinds is still struggling to find its footing in a changing market. They are attempting to move into the observability space, but the product and messaging are confusing to customers. The sluggish pace of product development is extremely concerning, and they are rapidly running out of runway to secure market share. The saas product is woefully underdeveloped still, two years after launch. Customers who buy it are at high risk for churn, and it's not competitive in the market at all.
It's very difficult to make progress on anything due to information silos, egos, and death by process and policy. PMMs frequently stall projects because of a failure to complete tasks, which comes with zero accountability.
Their marketing playbook has not evolved, and even simple things like web personalization isn't possible because of the massive amounts of tech debt. Forget trying to get accurate numbers or data from Salesforce—it's not possible.
