Some of the student workers are super dilligent and motivated. They carry a lot on their shoulders.
Cons
- Manager had no idea what the product was and my introduction was him showing off a slide show of how he abstractly wanted to sell the service - Did not ever see the source code while I worked there - Non technical people design projects with four layers of completely arbitrary physical data movement including new databases, and don't listen when they are told that this is polluting, confusing and really expensive - All data and data transformation is done in external SQL servers even when it could have been done in-memory without - No version controlling involved in the work that people do. They literally copy and paste stuff as a standard practice. Everyone seems to be doing the same stuff as each other without sharing what they are doing because somehow git didn't make its way here... - Management has no idea what the technical elements of their tech company are - The select few architects are thoroughly protecting the source code from everyone else - Technically low skill - Uncompensated trips to Jylland
