Best place to work, ever - LIMS Engineer Solum Employee Review

Had a great team, with a great mission, and was tackling some really interesting problems. Solid group of investors too.

It was an early stage company with all the ups and downs that that entails: the terrifying lows, the dizzying highs, the creamy middles.

I liked a few of the people I worked with. Free lunches on Fridays.

NO opportunity for advancement (even some of the contract workers who had been there for years weren't even being considered for full time employment with the company). Talked with one of my supervisors at work and they were being paid significantly less than I was due to discrepancies in employment agencies. Huge disconnect between the office workers and the lab workers. Sold to you as a "lab" job but it's more of a factory job, anyone could've learned how to do it in less than 30 minutes and you just did repetitive motions for 8 hours a day, no incentive for doing a better job/being faster at your job than your coworkers. Even the "supervisor" of our position had subpar people skills, because they knew you were absolutely temporary.
