Pros
The only pros are some (keyword: some) of the people you meet while working at Somnio Software. But, the same people you meet and become friends with, end up leaving the company due to the unstable work environment.
Cons
I’m genuinely shocked Somnio Software was rated a Great Place to Work, because my personal experience was very far from that.
From day one, the management culture felt disorganized and draining. There was constant micromanagement, unclear priorities, and a feeling that you were being pulled in five directions at once. Work-life balance was almost non-existent, it was completely normal to receive messages late at night, during weekends, or even during personal time, with an unspoken expectation to respond.
Roles and responsibilities were blurry, and people were often expected to handle far more than the position (or salary) justified. Speaking of compensation, bonuses and commissions were confusing, delayed, or changed without clear communication, which created a lot of frustration and distrust.
The environment often felt toxic, not collaborative. Instead of support or guidance, there was a pattern of dismissiveness, gossip, and lack of transparency. Feedback wasn’t handled constructively, and many employees felt undervalued and easily replaceable.
Overall, my time there left me stressed, discouraged, and disappointed. I’m glad others may have had a better experience, but for me, Somnio was not a great place to work, not even close.
