Pros
The people who have worked there over three years are fantastic- very helpful, thoughtful and witty. The grounds, before they laided off the entire grounds crew were beautiful. Now they are "maintained" and other vestiges of the good times remain, like the walking path and the amazing art collection. There is a lot of prestige in working there. It can be a boot camp for the rest of the publishing industry.
Cons
Fear, dread and ill will toward New York management. Before the top brass, who were excellent people, were laid off and New York cut 30% of the staff during the "6% of Time, Inc. will be laid off" in 2008 and again 20% more cut in 2009. It was great, it was happy, productive, and making tons of money. However, now the level of morale is insanely low. All publications are created on a formula, with limited creativity and cliche "southern-isms".
