Pros
Here are just some of the many reasons I love working at this startup foundry (i.e., this company that starts other startups): (1) All the startups it starts have one thing in common: the goal to use software to benefit humanity. If you want to work on something with the genuine goal of helping others, this will probably appeal to you! Examples of startups that Spark Wave has started include Clearer Thinking (which helps people to improve their everyday decision-making), Mind Ease (which is an app designed to help people manage anxiety), and Thought Saver (which uses spaced repetition to help people to learn more efficiently). (2) Everyone I've worked with so far at the company has been an absolute pleasure to work with, without exception! (For context, I've worked here, as a part-time contractor, for over a year now; I only have frequent meetings with the CEO, but I've had one-off or occasional meetings with at least four other employees, and email conversations with several others, for various projects since I started.) Unlike in other jobs (where meetings tend to be boring), I actually find meetings here to be very pleasant and productive! (3) The work is fully remote.
Cons
(1) The work is fully remote (I love this, but some people might think this is a con). (2) If you work outside the U.S., you’ll probably be employed as a contractor.
