Pros
-freedom to make autonomous clinical decisions -training, pays for train and conferences
Cons
-extremely clear discrimination between optometrists and audiologists. Optoms are treated as kings and queens. They get all the perks, don’t have to wear uniforms, everything will be taken care by dispensing opticians and other staff. Whereas audiologists are expected to do clinical work, admin work, see walk-ins and be present at shop floor at times, supervise, order things. It’s 100% clinical work and 200% admin work. - bonus scheme is a farce. You get like 100 pounds for 25k sales and some moths you wouldn’t get anything as the store didn’t reach target - so underpaid, with 4 years experience and masters in audiology I get 37k -managers are such bullies, there is no kindness only numbers and business -the staff morale is low all the time, there is no excitement or happiness to come to work
