Pros
While I no longer work for Spoke, I can still walk in and be greeted with a hug from everyone, every time. There’s a family-like culture that I haven’t experienced anywhere else, and we all know that co-workers make all the difference at a job. It’s important to have a sense of humor, and be able to take a joke. That became pretty clear even during my interview process. Spoke isn’t for everyone. Your attitude is just as important as your work ethic. Personally, I immediately felt at home. It’s a laid back atmosphere where you can laugh and not have take each other so seriously all the time, but when it comes to the work, it’s no joke. This is also the most challenging job I’ve had so far. There’s a lot of work to do. There can be quick turnarounds. There can be overtime. If you’re not prepared to take this on, don’t work at an agency. Everyone is incredibly talented and works very hard. Be able to collaborate, be open to constructive criticism, and keep a desire to further your skill set. The partners and leadership team are very experienced, yet extremely approachable. Best creative direction I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t trade my experience there for anything. Spoke Marketing is the reason I’m a better designer.
Cons
Go in with the aforementioned in mind, and there won’t be any cons.
