Pros

I genuinely do like working here - the chances for upward mobility and promotion are endless, we have a great dining stipend, and management is overall supporitive. Niko, our CEO, does seem geninuely supportive of us as reps and so does our VP of sales, Grace. He jumps into the all sales calls frequently and is very collaborative and gives us a chance to speak and he actually implements what we are saying. He seems warm and kind - as does Grace - rare for the c-suite. I have met some of the nicest, funnest people working here. My compensation is fair, and i live very comfortably. The product DOES work for owners who put the time in on it. I have seen some amazing results and i dont really have unhappy customers. We have loyalty and support for ongoing issues and theyre very responsive when clients have questions post-sale.

Cons

the burn out is very real here. You will be driving a lot, getting ghosted a lot, and when you're not doing that you are expected to be making cold calls. A 4 day work week would be lovely, but i doubt that is going to happen. Management will get on you if you are behind on quota. And i dont just mean asking for weekly updates. I mean - daily recaps, constant check ins throughout the day and weekly recaps. The micromanagement is truly insane when you are not doing what is expected of you - which can be looked at in two different aspects. in my opinion, micromanagement never helps anything - especially when you are already stressed about hitting a number. i've been in sales for 8 years and I dont need to be babysat. sales has ups and downs - period. Do not let them fool you: success is easy or hard depending on your market. Some markets are old, some are newer. As a general rule of thumb, the newer markets crush because there isnt any saturation. The leads are terrible. We get new leads every few months, and the lead collection team is too focused on volume rather than quantity.

Pros

I've been an AE at SpotHopper for just over a year and this role has exceeded my expectations in almost every way. First and foremost, the sales training is hands down the best I've ever experienced in any role at any company. Management is genuinely supportive and invested in your development, the culture is collaborative, and the earning potential is real. There are clear paths for growth and leadership recognizes and rewards performance. For the most part, if you're performing and hitting quota, you have the autonomy to build your own schedule and hours. One thing that stands out about management here is that everyone has actually done the job. Your sales manager was an AE at some point and was crushing quota. Nobody in a leadership position got there without putting in the work first. That makes a real difference because when they coach you, they're speaking from experience, not a playbook. Another thing that sets this role apart is what you're actually selling. SpotHopper delivers real, measurable results for local restaurants, and seeing the positive impact you can help make a reality for your customers is one of the most rewarding parts of the job. It's a lot easier to sell something when you genuinely believe in what it does for people. A note on the negative reviews: This role is not for everyone, and the low-rated reviews make that pretty clear. If you need leads handed to you to hit quota, you're going to have a bad time. The people who wash out here tend to be the ones who weren't ready to bet on themselves. The people who stay? They're killing it.

Cons

Turnover can be noticeable. Some great people have cycled through. It's not at all uncommon in sales, but worth knowing going in.

Pros

I was able to become a Senior Business Development Rep in exactly one year and make the Top 25 BDR's in the company at the same time. The effort you exert matches the rewards. AMAZING upper management. My manager, Elaine, advocates for me every single step of the way to make sure I'm hitting my goals and also enabling the best career trajectory. If she wasn't my manager, I know I'd still be in a good place but having that cheerleader relationship with, essentially, your boss is a great feeling and you know they're genuinely in your corner. Inspiring teammates. Everyone is working hard and it never feels like there's negative internal competition. I've never met anyone here who I didn't enjoy talking and working with. Remote working is always a luxury no matter the position and this one is no exception.

Cons

You really have to keep yourself accountable to your own work and practice the important steps laid out. Your managers can only provide so much guidance; outbound velocity and quota are yours at the end of the day. Pay could be a tad bit better but ultimately I think compensation is fair enough.
