Great camp, great food, and amazing coworkers.

The management team lacked the professionalism and leadership skills I expected from people responsible for supervising a large staff. Many members of management had zero corporate experience outside of the camp environment, and it often showed in the way they communicated with employees and with one another. Gossip among leadership was common, which created an unprofessional and uncomfortable workplace culture. My biggest concern was how young staff members were treated. Rather than providing constructive feedback and mentorship, management often resorted to belittling, public criticism, and favoritism. Certain employees seemed to be singled out while others were given far more grace for similar mistakes. This inconsistency made the work environment stressful and discouraging. Many of the counselors were ambitious young women with bright futures ahead of them. Instead of supporting their growth and independence, management often appeared more interested in maintaining control and discouraging perspectives that differed from their own. The result was a culture that felt more focused on power dynamics than on developing employees. I would not want my own children to be treated the way many staff members were treated here. I also hope that current employees remember there are opportunities and experiences beyond this camp, even if leadership sometimes suggests otherwise.
