Is this your company?

Pros

Small company. You won't get lost in a sea of employees

Cons

Owner is a bit quirky. First interview is like speed dating, You and several other candidates spend 5-10 minutes with multiple "Springboarders" who will ask you very personal, intrusive questions like "What was your largest purchase in the past year?" and "What was the scariest experience you've ever had?" None of the questions are designed to see if you are qualified for the job, but rather whether you will fit into their culture. Everyone gets asked the same questions regardless of what job they applied for.

Pros

If you are really good at selling high margin things to people, and make the company a lot of money you have complete control of what you do in the store, and can basically dictate how you want to act in the store. You also get to sit around for more than half of your normal work day.

Cons

If you do not make the company a ton of money you are completely ignored when it comes to any preferences in scheduling, you will become a closer. In addition to that you have weekly store meetings that are completely useless but are mandated. In addition due to how short staffed the company is you basically don't get to take real breaks now. In addition to that you work as the punching bag for every complaint about apple that people might have, so get use to being yelled at from time to time for things that are completely out of your control. Also, being a small business you get one upped by every other major electronic company. Apple also does nothing to help you, and also basically work to one up you whenever they could make the money out of the situation. Finally I do not believe, nor do any other employees, that higher levels of the company have any idea what is actually going on in the company, they set unrealistic goals for the lower management and staff, and do nothing to help us or show they care

Springboard Media Response

Thanks for your feedback. I do apologize if you had a negative experience while working at Springboard, as that is never our intention. Not all careers are a fit for everyone, and it sounds like a commissioned sales position in a retail environment was not something you turned out to be a match for. Weekly team meetings and structured prospecting expectations are intentional parts of our overall sales strategy and we are always looking to help all employees understand the big picture “why” of the tasks asked of them. It seems like this may have gotten lost in translation for you which I apologize for. Best of luck in future endeavors.
