Pros

Environment that encourages you to share your viewpoint - its is valuable and factored into the decisions made by management. Ability to take ownership of projects, lead teams, and direct the trajectory of my work / career (with support from management). Ability to directly impact people's lot / lives. Other non-profits talk the big talk, but you can see direct, correlated results.

Cons

Salary is good but when compared to nearby tech companies - well - there's a trade-off. I like what I did and the people I interacted with - that was enough for me.

Pros

As a first-timer pitching in, I was greeted with open arms by the event staff and chefs. They were incredibly friendly and helpful, making sure I knew the ropes without ever feeling lost. Meeting with talented chefs and supporting a good cause made the whole experience awesome for me. Overall, it was a blast, and I’m totally up for volunteering with Sprouts again!

Cons

The hardest part of the event? Trying not to stare too obviously at those amazing plates of food! Nevertheless, observing the chefs craft their culinary wonders was an absolute delight.

Pros

I grew up with a love for cooking shows and helping my mom and grandma in the kitchen. However, I didn't know how to get my foot in the doors of the culinary industry until I found Sprouts. Sprouts gave me my first experience working in a kitchen. I had a lot of fun learning how to make appetizers and entrees, but my favorite part was making pastries, such as ice cream and pâte à choux. Beyond learning cooking skills, working in the kitchen helped me develop skills such as patience (I learned how to pay more attention to details in order to plate dishes nicely), and also helped grow my confidence as I got better and better at cooking. I was honored when the founder of Sprouts, Kate Rogers, gave me the opportunity to remain connected and employed with Sprouts as a contracted paid team member after my internship ended. As a Sprouts Chef Trainee alum, I never hesitate to share my positive experience with others, and I know that Sprouts will continue to grow and develop more opportunities for underserved youth like myself.

Cons

I don't have any cons for Sprouts.
